Cisco Systems Combine the Power of the Internet and Education at New
Local Academy under the supervision of the United Arab Emirates University-Cisco
Regional Networking Academy

ALHOSN UNIVERSITY CONTINUING EDUCATION CENTER(CEC) announces, under
the supervision of the United Arab Emirates University-Cisco Regional
Networking Academy, a partnership with Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwide
leader in networking for the Internet, to launch a Local Cisco Networking
Academy. The Academy program prepares students for networking and
IT-related careers in the public and private sectors, as well as for
higher education in engineering, computer science and related fields.
Professor
Ziad Saghir, Acting President of ALHOSN University welcomed the attendance
and said “I am very proud today to announce the Opening of the
Local Cisco Network Academy to be one more achievement for ALHOSN
University, and to enable ALHOSN University to bear with the latest
developments in the networking technologies”. “ I am appreciative
to the UAE University for their fruitful cooperation that led to the
opening of this academy” Prof. Saghir stated. “adding
this networking academy to what our Continuing Education Center is
providing really helps the center to serve the local community by
providing the latest updates in networking” he added.
Mr. Dahduli from ALHOSN UNIVERSITY CONTINUING EDUCATION CENTER (CEC)
said “The Cisco Local Academy, under the umbrella of the UAE
University-Cisco Regional Networking Academy, will enable our students
to become the best in Network Infrastructure Engineering for the benefit
of the community which pleases us immensely. They would be given the
unique opportunity to implement colleges’ own network. The students
are excited about the program and look forwards towards the inculcation
as a part of their co-curricular activities.”
“As a Cisco Regional Academy, hosted under the College of Information
Technology of the UAE University we are dedicated to serve the community
by providing best in class programs for our local academies as well
as our University students. The Cisco Certified Network Associate
(CCNA) program, through extensive hands-on exercises, helps bridge
the gab between what is being taught in the class room and what is
being implemented in today’s era of computer networking. The
students at the College of Information Technology are always very
motivated to enroll in the CCNA program, offered free of charge for
them by the UAE University” said Dr. Shuaib, Director of the
UAE University-Cisco Regional Networking Academy.
“ We are looking forward to working closely with our new addition
ALHOSN UNIVERSITY CONTINUING EDUCATION CENTER(CEC) as a Cisco Local
Academy and to provide the needed training to their instructors, for
them to better serve the community by delivering a first class CCNA
program”, added Dr. Shuaib.
The Local Academy at CEC will offer CCNA courses for students to prepare
them for industry-recognized certification and IT careers. ALHOSN
University CEC plans to partner with local businesses seeking IT professionals
who have hands-on skills with the latest technology to place graduates.

Launched in 1997, the Academy program has grown to more than 10,000
Academies in 151 countries, with curricula taught in 9 languages.
Over 400,000 students are active in Academies in high schools, colleges
and universities, technical schools, community-based organizations,
